#49: Alone With God

Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (Matthew 17:4)

Our work With God is primarily in two phases: receiving from God and blessing others. When the bible calls us light and salts of the earth, it is bringing to mind that we have a responsibility to affect lives on earth. Receiving from God is like coming down a hill with another hill within sight. The normal thing to do is to gather as much momentum down hill for the next till to climb. There is always something to gain in the presence of God for the hereafter.

And as they came down from the mountain,...And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. (Matthew 17:9,14-16 KJV)

While Peter wanted to remain at the mount with the LORD, there was something waiting down the mount for to be taken care of. Had Peter maximised his mountain top experience, he would have been more useful to God at the foot of the mountain.

God wants us to be channels. He calls us to himself to equip us to affect others lives around us. The moment you are alone with God you may be tempted to enjoy the bliss of the moment, but we must also be diligent enough to gather victuals for the journey at the bottom of the hill.

Thought: Channels only, not a bottle. Be careful not be a bottle in the kingdom, but a pipe through with God will be manifested amongst men.
