  Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. ( Proverbs 19:21 ) Today's post is a sequel to the previous post: Let God Lead . This is another year. It is another time to be wild with plans and visions. by definition, planning entails designing the intentions for the future. One thing we all agree is that no one has been in the future. But there is a God who knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End ( Rev 1:8 ). He is not limited by time and space. And He knows this, not necessarily because He has seen it, but because, as our key verse puts it, He purposes them by divine decree ( Job 42:2 ; Isaiah 46:9-10 ) The bible does not discourage planning. The counsel of the bible is that we are very limited in knowledge as men. we only know the present and the past; we could use these to forecast a future, but we do not have the decisive power to create or orchestrate a future event - no matter how ...

He has promised and will continue to remain faithful. In this year 2022, we pray that this blog will serve as nourishment for our lives as we course through the journey of life.   The New Year is usually seen as a time for new resolutions, sober reflections with several phrases like ‘New year, new life,’ ‘Dawn of a new era’, flying around. While some see it as a time to make life-changing decisions others feel it’s just a change in the calendar. Howsoever it is, we make decisions daily; premeditated or not. The decisions we make as we plan our lives have a great deal on our future; could make or mar us. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope. It is quite easy for us to say we trust God’s plan for our lives, even when we do not know exactly what this big plan is. This is because we believe the words of our Lord from today’s scripture. The question however is: “how much do we trust God’s way of achieving this plan He has for us?” It is one thing to Trust His plan and another to trust His way of achieving this plan. Trusting God is not just about affirming our faith and proclaiming God’s ability to provide our needs. It is about believing in God’s providence, that every experience we live is a step towards the expected end He has designed for us. We might not particularly like it.
