#187: Empowered by Faith

2022 is still as fresh as February. We began the year looking at the relevance of divine direction in our decision making. We saw that the decisions we make as we plan our lives have a great deal on our future; could make or mar us. Because we have no idea of what tomorrow holds, we need direction and guidance from He who knows tomorrow. Now that the Lord has given us bearing for the year, we have to trust him and be persuaded that He will do that which He has promised.

20 But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised.
Romans 4:20-21

This is where faith comes in. So what then is faith?.

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

In the next few weeks, we will be taking a look at Faith and ways through which we can build our Faith. Faith is trusting God and not your guts in every situation, it is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. Our ancestors, the Giants of Faith had this secret and so they built their life on a firm foundation that enabled them to be set above the crowd.

33 who by faith [that is, with an enduring trust in God and His promises] subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, 34 extinguished the power of [raging] fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty and unbeatable in battle, putting enemy forces to flight.
Hebrews 11: 33-34

Faith is choosing to believe. It is an unreserved and full confidence in God, in His love for us and in His power to help us in whatsoever circumstances. It is that firm persuasion and expectation that God will perfect all that he has promised. It is believing in the integrity of God through His word. It is engaging in the Word to enforce the delivery of our desires.

5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.

John 2:5 & 7

Most times, it may sound foolish and inconvenient, but as far as it is commanded in His word then that is the way out.

10 and said to him, “Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have [c]drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now.”
John 2:10

Faith is our spiritual breath, we need it to live. Therefore we have to genuinely labour and invest in building our faith to stay alive. Don't miss out on this expedition as we explore ways to boost our faith in Christ Jesus.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Hebrews 10:38

God bless you.

Happy Sunday.
