#29: THE SLOW FADE!!!

At last he came to his senses and said, “all my father’s hired workers have more than they can eat, and here I am about to starve!” Luke 15:17 (GNB)

The difference in time between when we were yoked with Christ in discipleship and when we are making a repentant statement is usually long. Within this time lag, there are always several things we get involved in, and be negotiating with, and feeling comfortable with, even though they are actually wrong.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the council of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of the sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1

This passage covers a very illustrative view of how the slow fade process takes place. It begins with a walking, and then you find solace, and you consider standing, and with time, you find out that you are already sitting at ungodly positions.

Usually by the time that we discover ourselves, we would have squandered all the resources that the Father has bestowed on us. The prodigal son all along was at the peak of having fun. He was not realizing the distance that the fun was taking him from his father, and the damnation that awaited him should he continue in this path. Praise the LORD that he was able to come back to His senses. We have to deliberately pray every day that God remind us and rebuke us when we are drifting away from the path of righteousness. Perhaps God is already showing us how far we have drifted from the way today, we can still come back to the Father. He is ever waiting. Let our conviction today end in repentance unto salvation.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts. Psalms 139:23.

Those who think they are standing firm had better be careful that they do not fall. I Cor 10:12..

It would be wonderful not to fall at all, than to fall, nevertheless, should you fall, run to the Savior.

RESPONSE: Savior please fail not to call me saying “where art thou O sinner?” that I may be saved from ruin. Amen!

Happy Sunday

Bassey Dawn.
