#110: Giants of Faith III: Noah, A Square Peg in a Round Hole

By faith [with confidence in God and His word] Noah, being warned by God about events not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his family. By this [act of obedience] he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.
Hebrews 11:7

The Lord saw the great wickedness on the face of the earth and was bitter. So He decided to wipe out mankind from the face of the earth. But Noah found favor in the eyes of God. (Gen 6:5-8)

This is not different from our story of Salvation. The whole world was staged for destruction but Jesus Christ came to our rescue. Just like Noah, we have been chosen as sons of God to correct the decadence that is in our present day society.

Noah, by faith and obedience to God made a difference for his family, his generation and for God. He ended up saving his family and generations from extinction. Just like Noah, you can make a difference for your family, generation and for God.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Hebrews 12:1

Living a life of integrity and obedience to God brings about blessings that extends to your family and people living around you. Also, your action of faith and obedience to God secures a good future for generations to come.

God is constantly looking for people to fill in the gap. You are key in fulfilling the plan for which God has created you and in bringing redemption to the world. You can only accomplish this with faith and obedience in God, submitting to Him and living according to His precepts. You are not too young or too old to make a difference for God. No matter the circumstance you find yourself in, you can make a difference for God and your life really counts.

Do not be afraid to stand out. Noah kept building the ark in obedience to God even in the midst of discouragement and mockery from others.

Action Point: Live a life of faith with obedience and make a difference today for your family, your generations and for God.

  1. Well said! A call to stand firm and contend for the faith (in its original essence) that was once delivered unto us.

    1. Well said brother. Considering that this generation is not so different from that of Noah where evil was the order of the day. God must help us to be a light indeed.
