#155: The Prayer Altar
When the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem. Then arose Jeshua the son of Jozadak, with his fellow priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel with his kinsmen, and they built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Law of Moses the man of God. Ezra3:1-3 Just as rebuilding the altar and making sacrifices was very important to the Israelites, so it is for us. Think of the altar as a meeting place with God; a special place or time set aside for just you and Him. Prayer is a must if you are to live a victorious life. God is calling people to build prayer altars in their lives. As oxygen is essential for human survival, so is prayer to us as Christian; prayer is our lifeline.
