#106: Cry out to God
Our reactions to experiences in life defer from one person to
another. Some rant or quietly seethe when they are angry; others dance or
simply smile when in joy. Regardless of how we may react, many times we’ve felt
broken inside, inadequate or even helpless when overburdened with the issues of
life. Yes, even mighty kings who command great armies cried in seemingly
helpless situations.
Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried
out in prayer to God in heaven.
2 Chronicles 32:20
King Hezekiah cried out to God when
the Assyrians were camped outside Jerusalem’s walls and he received a
threatening letter from the King of Assyria. God heard his cry and intervened
21And the LORD sent an angel who
destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So
Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he
entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a
sword.22That is
how the LORD rescued
Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from King Sennacherib of Assyria and from
all the others who threatened them. So there was peace throughout the
land.
2 Chronicles 32:20:21-22
In the midst of discouragement, Blind Bartimaeus
cried out to Jesus for help and he received his sight.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to
cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me
Mark 10:47.
