#87: New Year Resolutions: A Journey in Circles

Stay alert, be in prayer, so you don't enter the danger zone without even knowing it. Don't be naive. Part of you is eager, ready for anything in God; but another part is as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire. Mark 14:38

Beloved, it is a wonderful thing for us to be in 2018 AD; and to this, i say a Happy New Year to all the readers. It is a usual custom this season to be found at silent corners trying to recap how 2017 had been and looking forward to strict measures to practice now to make 2018 better. But barely two weeks into the year and i could beat my chest that some of those strict measures have already been compromised as it has always been the case. It is because you are relying on the part of you that is lazy (the flesh) and not on the part of you that is ready for anything in God (the spirit). By flesh shall no man prevail! Zeal and determination will not help matters. The key is to be at alert and fervent in prayer. These are exercises of the Spirit and not of the flesh.

THOUGHT: The choice is yours friends; the spirit is willing [and will always be willing] but the flesh is weak [and will always be weak], which would you rather rely on? Jesus said, "I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me. John 14:6. Without Him, the same cycle will continue on and on no matter your efforts.
