#54: Open Heavens

2 Kings 4:6 KJV: And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

...and the oil stayed; but why? -there was no more vessel. We must learn that out LORD is not a wasteful God. The heavens are only open when God wants to move, and He would only move when there are people waiting to receive from Him.

Acts 2:2-3 KJV: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Even though there was a sort of rushing wind, the LORD only visited those who were waiting for Him. There were a lot of people in Jerusalem at this time, but the anointing of God’s Spirit was not for careless passers-by. It had a target-empty vessels.

Often at times we attend meetings with friends and it seems your friends benefited more; you must know that if rain is falling, the amount of rain you store is dependent on the capacity of the vessel you put out to collect the showers. Some go to conferences with teaspoons, and are filled accordingly; others go with cups; some with buckets; some with <GP> tanks. Your expectations from God matters to what extent God will visit you. And you can only walk with God to the extent to which you have encountered Him.

ACTION POINT: If you are ever thirsty for His, there will always be an open heaven over you. You will ever feel His Presence. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst...for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
